OUR MISSION

Fostering for a harmonious, tolerant, prosperous and socially just, pluralistic society in the Riau Islands that is based on democracy and anchored in local wisdom which is manifested in socio-economic empowerment of maritime-based communities, nature conservation, environmental protection, preservation of cultural heritage  and social customs by designating local communities as the spearhead of development.

OUR VISION

Promoting the principle of local wisdom in the formulation of official government policies in an effort to empower and improve the socio-economic well being of the local community, conserving nature, protecting the environment, preserving cultural heritage and social customs by equipping and facilitating the local community so that they can actively participate and can be the spearhead in the multi-sectoral development process in the Riau Islands which is an embodiment of making the local community the host of their own country.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

Di tengah hiruk pikuknya laju pembangunan di Kepri, masyarakat pesisir Kepri terkesan tertinggal dengan pesatnya perkembangan jaman dan teknologi. Batin Kepri bekerjasama dengan lembaga pendidikan tinggi UMRAH (Universitas Maritim Raja Haji Fisabillilah), sebuah universitas negeri provinsi Kepri, telah melaksanakan beberapa pilot program di daerah-daerah pesisir Kepri untuk mengembangkan perekonomian masyarakat dapat setempat yang kelak dijadikan proyek percontohan agar bisa dikembangkan di komunitas pesisir lainnya.

NATURE CONSERVATION & eNVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Another focus of Batin Kepri is Nature Conservation and Environmental Protection. This initiative is in line with Batin;s cherished principle of Local Wisdom which is the one of the basic tenet of Batin Kepri. Since time immemorial, traditional societies have understood the importance of maintaining a balance between meeting life's imperatives, conservingf nature and protecting the environment. Batin Kepri, in collaboration with UMRAH and the local community, has carried out mangrove forest restoration efforts in several coastal areas in the province of Kepulauan Riay.

Batin Kepri believes to enable the people of Riau Islands to be active participant in the development of the country , particularly in their own home province and can keep pace with the rapid progress in science & technology, preserving local cultural heritage must be one of the main concern of development so that the people of Riau Islands are not overwhelmed and swept away by the changing of times thus, lose their identity.

In collaboration with the Aksi Bangun Negeri Foundation, Batin Kepri launched the campaign "Penyengat Island Towards World Heritage Status"
